I get inspired by so many things--usually quilt shows and retreats and seeing what others are creating gives me the spark to start a new project.
ReplyDeleteI receive many quilt magazines by subscription. When I see a pattern I really like, I immediately start thinking about fabric choices, etc. That is how I end up with 5 or 6 projects in progress at one time!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful fabric motivates me to start a new project.
ReplyDeleteWhen I see a particular color of fabric or a cerain pattern in the fabric I think of different ways it can be used.
ReplyDeleteIt varies sometimes it is a quilt I see, a walk outside in the woods, some tile on the floor, a dish pattern, another blogger, a friend's quilt, a trip to a museum, a crazy bug, a mushroom, almost anything can trigger a quilt.
ReplyDeleteFlowers inspire me to design quilt blocks.
ReplyDeleteyoyopattycakes@hotmail.com
I'm inspired by my children…they request something they would like and I get to design and create it for them :)
ReplyDeleteSometimes it is for something or someone special. Other times the fabric itself tells me I must make something out of it, even if it has to wait in the stash for a while!
ReplyDeleteMother nature inspires me. Loved your open house photos at the Quilted Steeple. Thanks for the chance.
ReplyDeletejanie.mccombs(at)yahoo.com
See several different things can inspire me: the fabric, especially a fat quarter bundle, a pattern, a photo, nature, color and wanting to share my love of quilting with a gift!
ReplyDeleteUsually it's seeing a pattern or a quilt that I love. I have so many things that I want to make someday that I will never have enough time to make them all. And there are always new things that inspire me that push some of the other things aside for the moment.
ReplyDeleteWhat got me to start quilting was the birth of a grand child. But what inspires me is looking through Blogs and other sewing web sites. I some times dream about patterns. Thanks for the fun.
ReplyDeleteSeeing a quilt design that will challenge me is what gets me excited about new projects
ReplyDeleteColors and patterns inspire me - I'm still new at quilting and everyone in the family is wanting their own personal homemade goodie! So when I see something colorful or fun in a pattern that just speaks to me about a family member - I'm off to the races!!! And then I still have trouble giving it away - each item is so personal, I almost don't want it to leave me, until I think of how excited the recipient might be, then I'm excited all over again!!!
ReplyDeletei am inspired by quilt blogs, sometimes nature, sometimes it might be the fabric.
ReplyDeleteI join in qal's that look interesting to me, and have too many magazines and books that I look through for inspiration. I follow blogs and are influenced by them.

ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway !
Nature, architecture and new Fabrics, old fabrics in my stash, and now oh dear.. Pinterest. I went looking for quilting motifs and discovered an endless rainbow of inspiration. Now that I'm retired, I also spend a lot more time reading blogs and taking peeks at sample pages of quilting books online.
ReplyDeleteInspiration for me comes from color combinations and the look of texture. I like to have personal challenges in different projects such as no red, or utilizing a large print in a new way.
ReplyDeleteI love trying out a new technique. Of course a beautiful fabric also begs to be used. I just won't live long enough to make all the things I would like to try.
ReplyDeleteEvery quilt magazine has at least one entry which inspires me. I generally need to keep myself in check and remind myself to finish one project before starting another.
ReplyDeleteUsually books spark my creativity.
ReplyDeleteQuilting books, magazines and patterns inspire me to make a quilt as well as special events (birthdays, baby showers, etc), new techniques and quilting classes. Thanks for the giveaway!

ReplyDeleteI'm inspired when I want to make something for someone. I start to look at patterns, fabrics, and next thing you know I'm carried along into it!
ReplyDeleteI'd say my biggest inspiration and motivation comes from boredom. When I go the closet and don't see anything fresh and exciting to wear… When I look around at my home and notice that things need an upgrade… When I get bored with the TV/computer/etc and feel a need to just DO something. I also get inspired when I need a gift for someone. I'd much rather MAKE than buy.
ReplyDeleteI have some mag. subscriptions and there is always one laying around. I have liked and joined various sewing and quilting pages and groups. Just walking into my sewing room is so inspiring for me. I walk in there and say oh my i need to get in here and do something.

ReplyDeleteNew fabric, beautiful patterns and seeing what others create are all inspirations to me.
